| Focus: | Health, Nutrition, Injury Prevention, Athletic Performance | ||
| Background: | I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997. Upon graduating, I decided to shift my focus to pursuing a career in software development which is what I've been doing since then. I have always been a competitive athlete (primarily ski racing and tennis), a fitness enthusiast, and as I have gotten older, also a health enthusiast. Over the years, I have learned quite a bit through the passion I have for health and fitness and enjoy the opportunities I have to help people improve their quality of life. | ||
| Training Philosophy: | Having to deal with chronic health issues has given me a strong appreciation for the many factors that affect overall well being. It is completely possible to be very fit but also be unhealthy at the same time. This defies nearly every intention of exercise. The dedication given outside of the gym is at least as important as what's done inside the gym. It is the knowledge of what a healthy lifestyle really is and the discipline to implement it that lay the foundation for a successful training program. This discipline will do more for your fitness and your life in general than the latest supplements or training fads ever will. | ||
| Favorite Exercise: | Single Leg Squat | ||
| Reason: | The squat in general is a great exercise that works multiple muscle groups and a primitive movement pattern that many people lose the ability to execute properly. It is also a challenging exercises that requires dedication. I like the single leg variation because it is more representative of every day activities such as walking and running which are done with one leg at a time. | ||
